Rich in history, abounding in culture, high on wow factor, with an emphasis on natural beauty—this is Rochester. While most are familiar with our world famous attractions (such as the George Eastman House), as well as the regionally notable (who hasn't heard of a Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate?), there are many more gems of a hidden nature.

Whether you're hosting out-of-town guests, entertaining clients, or trying to make a good impression on the boss, the Flower City has a fitting venue.

Serving sophisticated southern Italian food prepared by the deft and loving hands of executive chef Silvana Formoso, this intimate family-owned spot spells special occasion. Start with silky fava e verdu (fava beans and greens sauteed in extra virgin olive oil and garlic). For an entre, consider the nightly special—perhaps osso buco or lamb shanks. Make time to linger over cappuccino and dessert—Lucano serves homemade, as well as imported, Italian sweets. A perennial favorite is Bindi’s arancia ripiena—sweet orange sorbet served in an orange skin. Reservations are recommended.

Frequented by celebrities and Rochester power brokers, the hip dining room serves up traditional bistro fare, like moules (mussels) mariniere and pomme frites, as well as ultra-fresh seafood. Waits can be long.
Reservations are strongly suggested.
