Rochester Women’s Network Announces Recipients of “Up and Coming Business Leaders Award”
Ceremony to be held at 12th Annual Business Conference

February 28, 2008 – Rochester, New York. – The Rochester Women’s Network (RWN) recently announced the names of 15 women who will receive its “Up and Coming Business Leaders Award.” The award recognizes the achievements of businesswomen who are emerging leaders in their fields. A special recognition ceremony will be held at the 12th Annual RWN Business Conference, which takes place on May 2, 2008, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. This year’s keynote speaker is Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks. The theme is: Economic Development Is Everybody’s Business. This year’s award recipients are: Andrea Juan Allen, Hope Hall School Claudia L. Burcke, RochesterWorks, Inc. Melisza Campos, Dale Carnegie Training Shannon Craig-Mulvaney, HR Works Victoria Damon, DDS Companies Alana M. Fuierer, Esq., Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti PC Eileen Galinski, Kate Gleason College of Engineering Laura Jeanne Hammond, The Next Step Magazine Brenna Hartman, Brenlyn Publishing, Fixie Chix, Inc. Heather Ostrander, EDS Kelly Olczak, Edward Jones Christina Paulus, Catholic Family Center Meredith Powell, Rochester’s Black Sheep Theatre Coalition Michelle Sommerman, Bergmann Associates Gretchen Woodworth, Paychex, Inc. “This award ceremony honors the stellar talent of emerging women leaders and the variety of ways each stimulates economic development in the Greater Rochester region,” said RWN Board President Dr. Esther Denaro Maltese. “The Business Conference theme is aligned with the award recipients’ commitment and resolve to continue efforts in moving Upstate New York into a growing, vital area in which to live and grow.” Honorees are chosen by a panel of community leaders who base their selection on criteria established by the RWN. Recipients must be working full-time in their current career field less than 10 years, must successfully demonstrate their professional influence in their field through numerous accomplishments, must have achieved career growth and advancement, demonstrated an ability to be innovative and creative thinkers, and shown initiative at work and in the community.
